The fact that we both are working from home now does not really change our daily routine and rituals. Our team of 13 sled dogs wants to be fed also during work from home time at 05:30 am. So we get up at exactly the same time as usual at 05:20 am. We go to the dogs and then we have to do the first hard work of the day. Feeding, watering and cleaning the kennel facilities. After roughly 45 minutes it is time for a first coffee together.
The best side effect of working from home is for me, but also for the environment, that I, like many other people, save almost 2 hours of travelling to work per day. For us, as people who like to be in nature, it is not only time saving but also makes sense from an ecological point of view.
So we can spend a little more time over breakfast together. At about 07:00 am I start my way to work (as we say every morning just for fun and has become quite a habit).
In order not to be alone, every day an "office dog" accompanies me which may then lie and sleep beside me the whole morning.
For the long time in the home office, I have bought myself a few days before a new beautiful desk and an office chair, in order to feel comfortable at work.
The regular coffee call meetings in the morning with the team are important and I think they are a good way to exchange ideas.
In my opinion, the daily work can be done just as efficiently and successfully, but it is important that you feel comfortable in your home office and have a structured daily routine.
At short notice, SISA acted quickly and professionally in this situation, because we were equipped with everything we needed for our daily work.
